The most suitable equipment for brucite milling
Brucite is one of the non-metallic minerals with highest content of magnesium.Its Mohs hardness is 2.5 and is easy to be grinded. After grinded into powder,it is widely used in environmental protection, paper, building materials and other fields. Specific purposes are as follows:
1. Burned magnesia: It is mainly used to produce magnesia refractories. The burned magnesia made from brucite have advantages of high density (>3.55g/cm3), high refractoriness (>2800 ℃), high chemical inertness and high thermal shock resistance,etc.
2. Light magnesium oxide: As brucite contains a high content of magnesium oxide, therefore it can be directly calcined to obtain magnesium oxide. This is a simple process with low cost.
3. Reinforced material: Brucite can be used as chrysotile substitutes in certain areas.
4. Fire retardants: Brucite is an ideal non-toxic, non-smoking, non-polluting, high-temperature flame retardant. At the same time it can enhance the effect of filler.
5. Paper making filler: Brucite is used as paper filler cooperate with calcite, the paper-making process can be changed from acid to alkaline method to reduce pollution.
The above applications all need magnesium powder, the powder quality will directly affect its application effect, therefore, the mill plays a important role in brucite powder processing.
