Calcined petroleum coke is the product of petroleum coke after calcination at about 1200 °C. At present, the main application field of calcined coke is electrolytic aluminum industry, followed by carbon, industrial silicon and other smelting industries. Cement,power generation,glass industries usually use calcined coke as fuel.

The application of calcined coke in the above industries first requires grinding the raw materials into fine powder, which requires to use grinding mill.

The fineness required for the application of calcined coke is generally 200 mesh, which belongs to the fine powder range. MTW European type grinding mill(upgrading raymond mill) and VM vertical mill are commonly used fine powder processing equipments, also general grinding equipment used in the processing of calcined coke.

The vertical mill has larger capacity and is more suitable for large-scale powder processing projects, but the investment is also larger. The investment of the European type grinding mill is relatively small, and after many years of upgrading,the capacity of the European mill has been much higher than the traditional raymond mill which can meet the general requirements of the powder processing.

For the environmental protection, the European type grinding mill and vertical mill are new equipments in the powder processing industry. They are equipped with dust collectors and noise reducers, and environmental protection measures are in place. This is one of the important factors to be considered in the current selection of mills.
