Sandvik opens plant in Minas Gerais
Swedish mining equipment manufacturer Sandvik has inaugurated a 65mn-real (US$36.3mn) plant in Vespasiano, in Brazil's Minas Gerais state, the company said in a statement.
"This new plant will use equipment and solutions for manufacturing conveyor belt rollers unparalleled on the Brazilian and world markets in terms of technology and efficiency," Sandvik managing director for Brazil Glauco Teixeira said.
The plant also consists of a hangar for assembling conical and jaw crushers, vibrating screens, trestles and drums for conveyor belts. It is the company's first roller manufacturing plant in Brazil.
The company also has operations in Chile, Sweden, Australia, Finland and Germany.
