Cone crushers can be classified as CS Cone Crusher(Spring Cone Crusher) and High-efficient Hydraulic Cone Crusher, which can be used in crushing various ores and rocks with hardness over medium.

Cone crushers can be classified as standard type and short head type, which are generally used for medium and fine crushing.

Standard type is generally used in secondary crushing, namely medium crushing.

Short head type is generally used in fine crushing, namely final cruhing.

For chamber types can be designed for CS Cone Crushers, namely super fine type, raw type, medium type and fine type.

Selection principle is based on size of feed opening and discharge opening, with large feeding size, large grain size will be createed, thus super raw type or raw type should be selected, otherwise, medium type or fine type should be selected. To calculate the feed opening size, we just use the max side to multiply 0.85, that will be the base of feeding size. Meanwhile, average size of the product is calculated by divide max feed opening size with crushing ratio.

Standard type CS cone crusher are generally used in open recycling, while short head type in closed recycling. To select scale board, three factors should be considered: capacity, power, wearing capacity of scale board; generally, we should follow the following principles: max feed opening size; change of grain size, distribution of feeding size. Generally speaking, materials smaller than closed opening of the discharge opening should be less than 10%, otherwise, power consumption will rise a lot. End products will be of slice shape. Raise of humidity of sticky materials will affect throughput of materials. In terms of moisture of materials, it should be less than 5%. In terms of power, that for standard cone crusher should reach 75%-80%, that for short head cone crusher should reach 80%-85%. As cone crushers are used in bad environment with heavy dust, adding improper maintenance, there will be various problems during operation. Generally speaking, normal operation can be guaranteed while paying attention to following issues: during operation, feeding should be even with out aliquation. Without even feeding, there will be problems of low capacity, bigger grain size, frequent action of springs, too much pressure for bowl-shape shafts, and raise in power consumption. Iron removing device should be equuiped to avoide iron materials in crushing cavity. If iron materials pass the crushing cavity frequantly, there might be acctident of broken draft.
