Recently, Fujian Building Materials Import & Export Corporation made successful trials in R & D marble powder instead of limestone powder as desulfurizer. R & D people completed the alternative test of 10% -100% of the marble powder which on-site monitored by the Provincial Environmental Monitoring Center, the data indicators are qualified. This research is a national initiative, pioneered the use of waste marble powder as a precedent for power plant desulfurizer. If popularized, annual use of marble powder will reach 900,000 tons or more which will save 20% or more cost for companies.
